Something new

Hi all. Welcome to April. I must say I'm very happy to see a bit more sunshine. It is invigorating. Now I know I promised you all a post with all the lovely photos of the Simplicity Wrap from my amazing testers, and all the details of the different yarns, and yardage, and I am working on it, but I want it to be as complete as possible, so thank you for bearing with me. I'm still trying to get my newest version completed but with the thin tiny fluffy stitches of the Scheepjes mohair rhythm* it's taking its time haha. But I haven't been Idol, and in between fluffy sessions I've been challenging myself to expand my stitch knowledge base. I was very excited when Tatsiana from Lilla Björn Crochet released her amazing new pattern. The Celtic Tiles Blanket. Have a look. Isn't it amazing. Cable crochet is something I've never properly tried. So I got stuck in. I was originally thinking about it as a baby blanket for a friend, but I think the cables may be too easy for little baby fingers to get caught in, so that means I get to start something new soon too :)

To be honest that was supposed to be my only new WIP this month. But one evening I trudged all the way up to my crochet corner in the attic (or Rapunzel's tower as my husband has now dubbed it.) and I was fully planning to pull out my 2 year old Flight of Fancy shawl to finish it up, when I realised the right hook was downstairs. So I had a brainwave. Why not finally try tunisian crochet. I did buy a hook a few years ago and I have so many half balls of Scheepjes stonewashed.* It would be perfect to finally make a start on Wink's Tunisian Skinny Scarf It has been on my list of things to try for years, so why not. You see this is where laziness gets me. I was too lazy to walk down and up 2 flights of stairs, so instead I taught myself a whole new way to crochet and gained a new WIP hahaha.

Do you see that tiny wee ball of stonewashed green agate. That has been my new thing recently. Turning all my half used floppy balls of mess into gorgeous little colourful cupcakes. I popped into my LYS, Echtstudio and picked up a wool winder. It is so much fun, and very hypnotic winding it all up and watching it spin around. Mesmerising. And it neatens everything up AND most importantly, makes room for more yarn hahaha. They are so cute, aren't they.

I'm going to love you and leave you now, but before I go, I want to invite you to check out my Ravelry page. I'm kellyskrochet76 I've been updating it here and there, trying to add project information as far as I can, and If you are making my Simplicity Wrap, I would love you to add it to your Ravelry project list and share your photos :) Have a great day everyone.
