It’s been a while...

Oh my poor neglected Yarnies, I haven’t been active in such a long time, though if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you will know that it isn’t due to lack of crochet projects haha. My procraftination got the better of me i think, and I just never came to my blog to share, and I had so much to share. I hope you can forgive me. Since we have last spoken I have had a design commissioned, have taken up pattern testing almost full time haha, so many things have been made and I have completed a tech editing course. I hope to set myself up as a tech editor and pattern translator, and get a few more designs out there. Watch this space... ;)

I will keep this short, (YES!!! I hear you cry haha) I just want to share some of the projects that I’m most proud of from this last year.

Exclamation Shawl This is of course right up at the top of proud crochet moments. Scheepjes commissioned a tunisian design of mine and released it as one of their fabulous After Party booklets. It’s available from Scheepjes retailers or as a Ravelry download. The pattern requires 1 Scheepjes Whirl. (woohoo, only 2 ends to sew away in the whole shawl.) Woolly Whirl Sugar Sizzle is used in these photos.

Nuada Another tunisian shawl, this one by the fabulous designer Aoibhe Ni. The pattern is available via Ravelry as an individual release but it is also included in the Legendary Shawls II collection. If you have tried any of Aoibhe Ni’s patterns and like them, this is a great way to build your pattern stash. I slightly adjusted the pattern to make it work with a whirl. I've included the adjustments on my Ravelry project page. I used a Whirl in the Peppermint Patty colourway.

Scheepjes Whirl is available from Scheepjes retailers or via these affiliate links*, Wool Warehouse or Caro's Atelier.

Maple Leaf Cardigan This was my 1st piece of clothing for me. I was asked to test the pattern and just could not refuse, and I was allowed to choose my own colours, that is always so much fun. The pattern is by A Spoonful of Yarn and is available for free on her site but also as a PDF download from Ravelry, it isn't expensive and it is a fabulous way to support Christina as a designer. I made it using Scheepjes Merino Soft in the colours Seurat and Hogarth.

Furnace Cowl And now for something totally different: KNITTING (hahaha) My Yarnie bestie Amanda from The Calm Nook Crafts, designed this lovely cowl for a Scheepjes After Party, and just to prove that it was a super easy knit for a total beginner I tested it for her. I really enjoyed it and it was a surprisingly quick make (surprising that I made it quickly anyway ;) ) It’s made using the super squishy Scheepjes Merino Soft and I used the colours Michelangelo and Kadinsky. It’s available from Scheepjes retailers or as a Ravelry download.

Toadstool Tin Caddy I loved this project. It was a Scheepjes MAL last year and it calles for some hardcore crafting. (I'm talking stanley knives and hot glue.) It now has pride of place on my crafting table. The Design is from Boy and Bunting and the pattern is available for free here on his blog. It's made with Scheepjes Cahlista, in lots of pretty colours.

I hope you are as happy that I'm back as I am to be writing again :) Please if you want to see anything specific get in touch and let me know :) I really want you all to get involved :)

See you all soon.
